Hold the tip to a flame until it catches alight (5–10 seconds).

Blow the flame out so the sage bundle smoulders.

Use a fireproof dish or shell to catch the ash

If smudging a room, walk slowly through the space, allow the smoke to 'cleanse' the air, paying special attention to the corners of the room - do not fan vigorously.

To extinguish, press the burning tip into sand or a dish.

Let cool fully before storing.

Burn in a ventilated room. Keep away from children, pets, soft furnishings and loose fabric.
